Vote for the Cicada! Please?
I posted the “purple” cicada picture on my Tree site today. Thought I’d share the “green” picture with you, so we could think about backgrounds. Which one looks better? Green or purple? I chose the purple one to post on the tree site because it helped define which tree the cicada was in. Hmmm. But the green one shows the cicada’s silhouette better. Wanna vote for the one you like best?

Don’t you think the large white spots of light in the background are distracting though? See, I should have had my 2.8 lens for this shot! Maybe the background would have been just slightly softer. Hmm. I’ll have to go on a cidada hunt!

On second thought… the green. Bob questioned my opinion, too. He said the detailing in the green one is better. I have to agree. It’s just that I love the color in the purple one.

The green one shows more wing detail and the cicada’s leg movement better. Both are amazing shots, but it depends on what you want to focus on…the cicada or the tree. Both show the purple leaves. I prefer the green :o)
