Rededication Concert

The star of the show: a 1926 Steinway.

But without the dedicated musicians, that old piano would be nothing but a stunning piece of furniture.
Brenda Day, Bill Kistler, Elaine Hansen

The piano has been owned by the First Presbyterian Church of Metuchen since the 1920s.

It was in need of repair, so the church raised $30,000 to have the piano restored, inside and out.

Today the church sponsored a rededication concert to celebrate the return of the new old piano after six months of painstaking restoration.

Taking the first bow.

Brenda Day is the Minister of Music at First Presbyterian Church.

That old piano sounds fabulous now!

There were a LOT of people at the concert!

I try to be the invisible photographer at concerts, never shooting during the quiet movements.

He was leaning over the balcony rail watching Brenda as she played the ragtime piece.
I think he was as mesmerized as the rest of us.

A piano trio: 29.3 keys each.

The final bow.

She’s a beauty!

Thank you to all the people who made the piano project a huge success!
