Jennifer & Vitali: She’s a Butterfly

When I first walked up to Jennifer and Vitali’s home, their daughter was looking for me. Of course, I had my hands full of photography equipment, so I missed the ADORABLE shot. However, on my way out, I was ready, just in case she watched me leave. And watch she did!

At first, the little girl was a bit freaked out by my camera.

But she got used to me after a while.

I love when grandma comes to help! She can stand behind me and help get the child to look in my direction and smile. Plus, I love to get shots of the child interacting with the grandparents. (Most of the time, the grandparents don’t really want to be in the pictures though. Why is that? This is beautiful!)

Adorable!

Most of the nice shots were not at all posed or planned. Take this one for example. “She wants to lay on the floor. Everybody lay on the floor!” When you’re shooting a 2-year-old, you have to go with the flow! I LOVE this shot!

That’s a GREAT sweater! (Doesn’t she look more like a cool 7-year-old than a 2-year-old? It’s the way she’s standing in those flare jeans. Love it!)

I love the light and colors in this one.

TOO cute!

Check out this great shot of Jennifer! Beautiful!

Oooh, I love this one too!

Again, no planning or posing. Just playing on the floor and hopefully everybody looking at the camera all at the same time!

But THIS one is my favorite! The little girl came over to lay on the floor with me and I showed her how to look through the camera to find her mom and papa and push the button. So, I didn’t take this beautiful picture. A 2-year-old did! (And she gave me a hug on the way out! I made a friend! Yay!)

She loves to swing.

Or rather, I think she loves to FLY!

  1. You did such a fabulous job of getting great shots of all three of them! And I LOVE the shot of her peeking out of the door and the last one (swinging)! :)

  2. I love these shots!! They are such a happy family and you did a great job capturing that. How did the little one stay on that swing? It looks like she’s about to do a belly flop off that swing, but I love how you captured it! And the mother - has anyone ever told her that she looks like the adult version of Marsha Brady?? That’s definitely a compliment to her! ;)

  5. Great shots Julie! Love how you have captured them naturally in such beautiful lighting! The first picture (peeking) is a shoe-in for a favorite, but I like the semi-informal headshot of the three of them with their heads together!++
