Pocket Wizard on Trial

My new pocket wizard system triggers my off-camera flash wirelessly. My flash is positioned just behind the half wall, underneath the lamp.

No flash. The difference is the focal point of the picture. In the top picture, the focal point is the bronze flxture of the lamp. The nice thing about this is that you can see and appreciate the shape and texture of the lamp arm and that’s the focus of the shot.
In the bottom picture, the thing that stands out the most is the out-of-focus bright background.
If I were selling my lamp, I’d use the top picture.

I need one of those!
Hey Julie, thanks for dropping by my blog. Answering your question about how I got in the Dodgers Stadium… their gift shop is inside the stadium at the top level so if you go any day during business hours you tell them you’re going to the gift shop and voilá!

Wow that is a big difference. I’ve never heard of a pocket wizard, I will check it out.

What a difference with the pocket wizard! I want one! But even more - I’m so jealous that you get to go to B&H.

Don’t you love the PWs? I don’t know what I’d do without them. I was so thankful for them last week. We do a photo booth at our daughter’s canteen (like a middle school dance, but to be PC they can’t call it a dance). There’s a DJ there, of course. And, like most DJs, he has a strobe light. I can just imagine what it would do to my monolight if I had been using the optical slave. It would totally burn out. And even if the circuit breaker saved the light, I still wouldn’t have been able to continue without asking the DJ to not use his strobe.
Next thing you know, you’ll be getting more lights and more PWs to use with them.
