Dogwood: Three Days Later

In case you haven’t been following along, we’re watching the
dogwood blossoming progress, day-by-day, except we miss a day now and then. Here’s today’s picture. She’s almost there! But actually, this is my favorite stage — the day or two before the full size blossoms have emerged. I love the pale green tint of the new petals and the delicate pink of the petal tips. Ahhh, spring. I love my dogwood tree.
What does a dogwood seed look like?IS it a helicopter seed?
I’m a glass-is-half-full kind of person. The kousa is not a “sad loner” but a diamond in the rough.
I think mine is a rebel cultivar called “Kousa”. The “pre-flower” green things are just becoming prominent now, and it’ll probably be two-three weeks before I see the white flowers. By then, all of the neighbor’s pink Magnolias will have given up, and my Dogwood will be a sad loner.
It’s great to relive the blooms. Ours in SC (along with the azaleas) have come and gone and we’re seeing the remnants blowing like snow through the yard. Happy Spring!
This is such a gorgeous shot!!!
Stephanie, you’re cracking me up!!!
Awesome, love Dogwoods, and your Dogwood page.
Hi, it’s just me, testing the comment thing from a pc since my friend, Mike, told me he couldn’t post a comment in my blog. Anybody else having trouble? Please email me at julie@juliewaltonshaver.com. Let me know what browser you’re using. Maybe that will help. But probably not since I have no idea how to fix stuff like that.
