Custom Jewelry by Marcella

Marcella makes beautiful jewelry. When she needed new business cards, she asked if I could help. So I photographed some of her pieces, and designed her a new logo. Her new cards will be printed on both sides.

I can’t wait till the new cards come! I had them printed on pearl paper, with a slight iridescence.

Marcella liked my photos and designs so much, she ordered two sets of cards!

I love the reflections in the crystals

I have to admit that I have a new appreciation for jewelry photographers now. There are so many factors to consider — light, positioning, focal point, reflections. Plus, you have to have really clean hands! The next time I shoot Marcella’s work (we’re planning to make a catalog), I’ll be looking for creative display ideas that don’t involve velvet. I’m thinking tree branches.

Fantastic cards!! WOW! And I’d love to hear your review on the pearl paper. I haven’t seen any samples first hand yet. I need to get myself in gear ;)

You did a FABULOUS job making the jewelry look awesome. I know they must be so pleased – it certainly makes me want to buy some! :)

Ah, the many facets of jewelry photography. ;-P OK, that was really bad, I know, but I just can’t help myself sometimes. I love all the colors in the crystals (?) — almost like a kaleidoscope. Did you use colored paper all around or what? That’s pretty cool.

I love love love (can I say that as a guy?) the cherry blossom pendant. It reminds me of springtime growing up in Japan.
