Destination: Japan!

Click the picture to jump to Beth and Rich’s summer slide show. I love the picture above. The family is moving to Japan next week so the symbolism of reaching across the creek is touching.

For the last three years or so, Beth and Rich have lived next door to Rich’s parents. Sweet.

And Rich’s grandparents have lived nearby too.

Four generations of Riches.
(The picture above requires a little explanation. It seems the patriarch of the family has quite a sense of humor. The two middle Riches could NOT stop laughing at whatever it was the elder Rich was saying. I love that sequence of shots in the slide show.)

Loyal blog readers may remember Beth and Rich from their session with me last fall. Lots of leaves!

Their daughter was not feeling well, but since they’re moving to Japan, we couldn’t put the shoot off any longer.

A little fever-reducer goes a long way! She’s quite a trooper!

We love the Jeep!

We also love that creek!

I think the family will miss that creek when they move to their new home. I’m hoping, praying, DESPERATELY BEGGING that Rich and Beth will fly me out to Japan in a year or so to do a shoot with them there! Wouldn’t that be COOL!? (Oh yeah!)

Don’t you think this looks a lot like a Japanese temple? Ok, I’m halucinating.

I can’t help smiling when I watch Rich playing with his children.

We’ll be praying for safe travels, expedient delivery of all your stuff, and no more fevers! Please please keep in touch! We will miss you!

What great photos of such a lovely family! Best wishes to them!
Great job, Julie!

What a fantastic work! Beth and Rich are our dear frineds and we’re so happy that they will be coming nearer to where we are. An the truth is, if you fly to Japan, Julie, we have to fly you over to Singapore too because your work is amazing.

Rali — thanks so much for your kind words! I’d LOVE to go to Singapore! (Good thing my husband doesn’t read the blog. I get lots of time to think of how to spring my big trip on him!)

Julie-Your work is amazing. The Gallaghers are friends of mine and they are missed already. Your fall and summer shoots with them are a work of art. You will be getting a phone call from me in the spring when my youngest turns 2. I just had a photo session in the Outer Banks and I’m regretting doing it because your work doesn’t hold a candle to what I had done. Take care and I really look forward to meeting you in the future.
