Jack at 10 Weeks

Click the picture to jump to Jack’s slide show. Doesn’t he have gorgeous eyes?!

I actually googled images of the Mona Lisa after I saw this picture. Jack’s mommy has the “Mona Lisa smile” down pat! (Except our Mona Lisa is way prettier than the first one.)

One of our goals in newborn lifestyle photography is to show the newborn person in scale with things that will likely still be around when he’s grown. Something tells me that couch will be around for a long time! I love the carpentry in this room!

Of course, we love to show the size of the baby’s hands in relation to mom’s and dad’s hands. (Now you know why I advise my clients to get a manicure before their photo shoot.) I love that Jack’s fingers are curled around dad’s wedding ring finger.

Talk about scale! Jack’s got two fingers in dad’s ring. Oh, little warning here. See those rings? Little Jack, future major leaguer, pitched them at one point (along with mom’s engagement ring — YIKES). We were doing this part of the shoot outside on the deck, so I was praying they didn’t slip through the deck slats. Phew. Got lucky on that one!

I love this picture!

Love this one too!

All my mom clients know I love to shoot the mom leaning over the crib. (We moms spend a lot of time leaning over cribs.)

Love this one too because that’s what we see when we lean!

I love the song in Jack’s slide show for its quiet simplicity, but be sure to pay attention to the message or else you might be scratching your head wondering why I chose that song with its sometimes odd lyrics. I think it’s appropriate because the newborn baby is, well, to quote the song, “the start of something beautiful.”

We’ll be seeing lots of Jack in the next year, so be sure to keep up with the blog!

Peace,
