One can tell from the "reverse oreo" picture at the top that this mama wasn't too liberal with the sunscreen on her eldest child this summer.

Thanks for taking Gabriel along - he had a blast!

PS - Call it morbid curiosity but: not even one tiny pic of the feet???

I still have wrinkles on the tops of my feet from a severe "foot burn" when I was in my teens! And I don't have a picture. Oh well.
The next thing you will get is poison ivy! Ha!
Leaves of three let it be. remember that one?

Wow...I remember LOTS of poison ivy in the woods between our houses when we were kids. I used to look like the "elephant man" all the time with that stuff! ick!

CG,
I have a "fond" memory of picking blackberries in the patch next to your house one weekend. We (probably Bobby, Steve, Joe and others) picked several medium sized buckets full that day, took them home much to our parents, who were overjoyed at the haul. Well then my mom looked a bit closer at my scrawny little body and discovered that I was covered with ticks. I probably had at least a dozen on me! Well that was about the most disconcerting thing that can happen to a 10 year old (I guess I was about that age). I had terrible dreams of all sorts of insects crawling in my bed that night. Yuck! I am still horrified of ticks and spiders as well ...so this post can refer to the Mr. Idaho article of this week!
I hope you are doing well. I think of our Aiken days often.

Brother Bill -
Ew...I don't really remember the blackberries/tick episode, but it sounds awful. You poor thing! I do remember so much of that kind of thing living in those woods--and behind the golf course. Great places for kids to have fun (and get in trouble), don't you think? Those were great days and I miss them too.
Take care! Susan :o)
