for Evan’s day as an official one-year-old.

Be sure to turn up the sound. When the slide show is finished, it will jump back here where you can leave a comment for Evan and have a chance to help his family win an 8×10 print! My friend, Brad, is really good at answering these contest questions, so I thought I’d make this one especially challenging. Have fun!

The picture above has got to be one of my all-time favorites! Evan is a very special little boy. I thank you all for praying for him and his family!

Love this one too! Evan is so cute.

I know the perspective is strange on this one, but I love it! The expression on mom’s face while she’s getting Evan ready to go out cracks me up! I know that face. I’m made that face a million times while getting children ready for outings.

Can’t resist the walking shot!

Evan had just gotten over a cold by the time we were shooting, and he didn’t seem very comfortable being outside.

See? Just a tad grumpy, but I still love this picture. Of all the pictures in Bradley’s baby album, it’s the crying shot that makes people stop and look. We can’t help being drawn to misery sometimes…

…because sadness makes us appreciate happiness more!

I got several nice family shots too. You KNOW I love this one! The fall colors are gorgeous and everybody’s actually looking at the camera! Yay!

Ok, Brad, and anybody who wants to take a stab at the contest question: For major blog praise and a free 8×10 for Evan’s family, describe the picture in the slide show that has something in it that shouldn’t be there — something of mine. Seems so obvious to me, but it might take you all a while to find it, kind of a “Where’s Waldo?” Have fun!

Thanks Heidi. I looked at the slide show many times but couldn’t figure it out. I believe that is Evan’s coat on the changing table and probably my jacket on the dining room chair. I always leave it there. It never makes it to the closet. Thanks again for winning us the print.

Hey, I’ve been busy. Thanks, Heidi, for picking up my slack.

I only got a chance to see the slide show once, and was going to guess a sweatshirt hanging on the back of a chair. Now I have to go back and see if I can locate the flash on the dresser.

Ok, on closer inspection, that’s NOT my camera bag on the changing table. I zoomed in really close on the actual image and it’s likely a sweater. But it could be a blanket.

The jacket is not my jacket cuz that’s a fashionable, cute one whereas mine is a very UNfashionable down coat. (Nice and warm for outdoor shoots though.)

Oh, and there’s no reflected flash in that last shot. I guess it’s just a reflection of the bright street. By that point my flash was in the car!

    Brad must be on vacation.

    ;)

Heidi, you’re AWESOME! That thing on top of Evan’s dresser is my flash. I was going to crop it out, but figured I would crop it anyway if the family ordered a print of that image, and thought it would make for a really, impossibly hard contest question. Guess I was wrong about that, you detail person, you!

I still don’t know what that is on top of the changing table. It may very well be my camera bag. Ugh. Wait, now I gotta go look at the slide show again to see this coat thing you’re talking about… and the reflected flash. You found more stuff than I had even seen! You’re GOOD!

Evan’s mom and dad: you can thank Heidi for your 8×10!

    :)

Oh, hey Bob — you’re funny about the toys. That made me laugh! :) So good to hear from you again!
    Peace and happy Thanksgiving!

  5. Bob says:

Great shots Julie! Are those your toys laying around on the floor, young lady?!?!?

  6. Heidi says:

Wow, am I actually commenting before Brad?

Hmmm, there’s something on top of Evan’s dresser that I can’t quite make out, and then there’s something on top of the changing table that could be clothing or a bag…and there’s even a stray coat slung over a dining room chair…but I’m going to guess: are those YOUR lights reflected in the last shot?
