What I love about this design — the rich earth tones compliment the beach theme, conveying an overall sense of warmth. The photo on the back of the boy playing soccer is beautiful as a sepia-toned image, complimenting the classic styling.

Julie - Of course I love it because they are my boys. But my favorite part is the faded photos on the inside. We sent out numerous Christmas cards and almost everybody called to compliment us on the cards. We can’t thank you enough. All the best in 2008.

I love the black and white! The pictures are up close and so clear. I love that you have a photo together and then the individuals! Great Job!

I love the layout of this card. I like the side -by-side photos of the boys’ faces and then the larger, more subtle pictures in the background. I also think the candid nature of the photos really give you a sense of their personalities.
A handsome bunch for sure!

This is a beautiful card. You really captured the personality of each of the boys. Great job! I love [name deleted] playing soccer on the back cover!

I had this card hanging up with the rest of my photo Christmas cards and I can’t tell you how many people commented on what a beautiful card! Everyone’s eyes just gravitated toward the card because it was more like a piece of art work. I love the candids too! Just an absolutely beautiful card!

Being a sometime journalist, I must comment on the copy. I love the connection between the warmth of the holiday season and the fact that some of the photos are at the beach. On the inside spread, I really like the muted colors in the back round with the head shots of the boys overlayed. Very cute to have similar poses/directions up top and different directions the boys are facing on the bottom. As always, great job Julie!

Best card I received this year! I scrapbook and the card reminds me of a page layout of a day at the beach (with a little soccer thrown in!).
Besides my own son, I probably take more pictures of these boys than anyone else. And as said above - you captured their personalities wonderfully!
The colors and textures are so “boy” like. I can’t say enough - I absolutely love it!

I love how the natural tones compliment the natural enviornment the pictures where taken. It does not hurt that the children are gorgeous.

Thanks for all the comments everyone!
I amended the rules this morning to clarify:

THANKS AGAIN! And sorry if the amendment causes confusion.

This card is beautiful, it tells a story with its very personal photos. Most importantly it helped me connect with old friends, letting me in on their day-to-day life. Well done and happy holidays!

the earth tones do more than complement the beach colors, as you note in your own assessment. i think the earthiness goes deeper — the boys as part of the earth’s life forever. hope that’s not over the top as a comment.

I like Bob’s earthiness idea too. The card does have a certain earthy feel to it. But I won’t say it looks like dirt!
On the other hand, what better way to showcase a family with boys, right? Julie, you’re shooting my family next year whether I win the contest or not!

Love the inside of the card with the faded photos in the background. And one of each boy on each side of the card is great!

This photo truly connects the viewer to the innocence, fun and closeness of the three beautiful boys. Absolutely great shots of each child. I love the layout of every page. All the photos tell a warm story about the family. Awesome card!
