Little Bugger! They're really good at figuring out how to get to the food. But the dogwood is a very dense tree. Thus, no place to hang the bird feeder that doesn't have branches from which the squirrels can just reach over and snack. So this bird feeder is supposed to have this spring system that once the squirrel pushes down on the perch, the perch falls down, making the food inaccessible. BUT IT DOESN'T WORK because when the squirrel rests his little paws on the perch, it doesn't move down like it's supposed to! Ugh! I had to laugh though when I looked out the window and the squirrel had the top off the thing and was down inside the feeder munching away. Squirrel-proof. Right. So I went out to take pictures of that. But, at the same time, Mike had seen the squirrel too, and had gone to the upstairs window to look down on the squirrel, and pummel him with pebbles (which is a nice way of saying rocks) and I missed THAT shot! :D Made me laugh though that two people, both working from home, are totally obsessed with this squirrel. By the way, Melissa, my mom used to have an umbrella cover like that one and it does work pretty well! Thanks! I just laughed. We love to feed the squirrels and birds (when they can manage around the squirrels!).
