I don't know how I missed this one before. What a treasure for your boys. I'll bet they will love to look back on this. And as always, the music is perfect.

Hey, Julie and gang. I enjoyed the family slide show so much, and was glad to see mamarazzi in a photo at last! All of you look great. What a wonderful American family you turned out to be. Thanks for sharing.

Hi there. I haven't joined your blog for ages, and I've been surprised by such a gorgeous slide. Congratulations for your work. I'm not only delighted by your pics on trees, but also for the magic and wonder which sparkle from your family shots. Like the ice on the cake, your smiley face appears at the end. Thank you.

Variety Village is our favorite place for just about everything else! In case you haven’t heard, there’s going to be a new owner soon.I was in the store today and Tommy (the owner, always smiling, above) was telling me about the expected changes. Tommy, I know for a fact that my kids will never forget the joy of walking downtown to go to Variety Village.
Julie You did a Great Job wrote about this Store ,this the place I always go since Prayci 3 Years old. We will miss Tommy.

Hey Jules:

It was great to view this slideshow and see how much the boys have grown and to also see some of our favourite Metuchen landmarks and all the memories they evoke!

Great job as always,

love, Deb

Hi Julie, Today my "tree guy" called to say he has a Bloodgood Japanese Maple dug up and ready to bring over to us. I quickly got on the web to look them up and came across your tree journal and followed the path to all of the rest of your work/play. What a great treat your photography and your thoughts are. I feel like I've been on a retreat! Thank you. What is the music playing in your Memorial day slide-share?

Like you, only not so professionally, I am the family photographer.. and like you, it often looks like I wasn't there. It really was a gift to see you with your son. Maybe we should learn to turn the camera over and "be there" more often?

Best regards, Jeanne, from Lisle, IL

hi jeanne -- jules here -- thanks! There's a music credit at the end of the Memorial Day show. I love the music too! I've learned, every now and then, it's a good idea to set the camera up for a decent shot in given light, and hand it over to somebody else. I may not like pictures of myself very much, but I sure do wish I had pictures of my mom when I was growing up, and I don't mean the church directory posed family photo either, I mean pictures of me and her doing stuff together, and pictures of me and my dad, and pictures of me and my brothers. Actually, I'd give just about anything for those pictures now. It makes me sad that I don't have any. So I'm going to make sure my kids do have some pictures with me in them! -- jws
