Above, the view from my window about 15 minutes ago.

For my Tree Grower’s Diary followers, in the foreground, the red tree is my Bloodgood Japanese Red Maple. The tree on the other side of the driveway, this side of the fence, is my Aristocrat Pear. The orange tree in the background, behind the Japanese maple is an Armstrong Maple.

From the back window, the orangeish tree is my sugar maple and the completely green one is a Bradford pear. (The kids will be raking the leaves on Christmas.)

October Glory red maple today. Still very green, with a touch of red and a touch of snow.

Armstrong maple. That one’s getting nice color this year. Weird that it’s snowing in October.

  1. Debora, from Canada says:

    Hi Jules:

Well, this might be a first — snow in New Jersey before snow in Toronto, Canada! (There is snow north of us though)

I asked Michael last weekend if we should put the snow tires on….and he said, oh, it’s way too early for that.

Now, guess what we’re doing this Saturday?!

  2. Oh, I love the one of the cat looking out the window. My goodness I cannot believe I see snow :)

  3. Pat Collelo says:

My cat Feather experienced the same intrigue as the Kapt. She kept trying to bite the snowflakes through the window! Her tail was flicking furiously – then she settled down into the “loaf” position as demonstrated by Kapt Karl and watched the snow-show! Me-OW.

  4. Greg Bumatay says:

What? Snow?! I can’t even imagine snow right now – it’s 89 degrees where I’m at!

I can see the autumn colors beginning to come out – looks gorgeous.

  5. Mary says:

I had to take pictures too! And the kids insisted on hot chocolate to mark the occasion.

  6. oh- so *that’s* what snow looks like.
i thought that only happened in movies…. ;)
