There’s Dorothy’s family again, well, part of it. Toto and the lead father-figure character were unavailable for this casting call.

These three were flower girls in a wedding I shot this summer. I love Dorothy’s hair, the Mad Hatter’s hat and the Jester’s cool pose.

Hey G-rex! G-rex was one of several Clone Troopers in his grade at the school “parade.” (They don’t really have a parade anymore. That bums me out. Come on, the schoolyard is fenced, sign people in, give us our parade back!)

I was trying to get my little sports fans to cheer but I think I dampened their moods when I mentioned the Phillies. Ummm, go Yankees? (I’m a life-long Braves fan, dudes, and I won’t apologize for it.)

These girls are starting to get used to the fun unposes I try to get my subjects to do! All I have to do is say, “Hit it girls!” and boom, that’s the shot.

I love this picture. Mom came up to me and said, “Would you get a picture of me and my daughter?” I love when people do that on Halloween.

I am loving my camera right about now. Is this picture cool or what? No special lighting. Just a quick exposure adjustment. A fave for sure. I love the warmth of it, and the twilight sky, and the subtle outline of the top floor and all the kids on the porch. Halloween is such a great time to get out and see the neighbors. I love Halloween.

Happy birthday, Brad! We love you!

Thanks to everybody who participated in the slide show! I had so much fun! (Extra special thanks to Dawn, Heidi and Frank for helping me keep track of G-rex!)

Ooh, I totally forgot to tell you how to order prints!

To access the print gallery, send me an email, then I’ll send you the passcode. Proceeds from print sales will go directly to the Metuchen-Edison Clergy Association’s Emergency Assistance Fund. This fund helps local families deal with temporary financial hardship by helping with food, rent and utility bills. The print gallery isn’t up yet, but as soon as it is, I’ll email you the passcode.

    Peace,

Aww. I hope to move to a neighborhood where kids still trick or treat. My neighborhood while growing up was full of kids! We’d go through 3 or 4 Costco king sized bags of candy on Halloween. Now not a single person.

These photos remind me of my childhood. Thanks so much for sharing!

  2. Joyce Shealy says:

Darn, looks like I’m too late w/ the CHICK MAGNET guess!

Love the baby batman! You did too, didn’t you?

These are awesome! And how cool to donate your proceeds. You’re the best.

  3. Tara Tay says:

Beautiful work!!! I didn’t realize you did this every year. (Thought I was just lucky to run into you :) ) Boy, do we have some cute kids in this town.

I love all the cute costumes and smiling faces. Americana! Julie, you should be “America’s Small-Town Photographer.” Oh wait. Did that come out right? :) AWESOME! Your slide shows are more fun than watching TV.

  9. Mary says:

Aw, beautiful shots, as always. I wish we could have made it over to your neighborhood. And the young man with the creative costume will certainly attract the ladies one day. There’s a term for that I think…

  10. Great job again Julie. Thanks for taking the pictures and inviting us. My husband wanted to take a guess at the costume – a chick magnet.

  11. Diane says:
