G-rex pushed the buttons for me. Yay, G-rex! We also realized that Brad will be old enough to vote in the next Presidential election! On Nov. 6, 2012, he’ll be 18 and 6 days.

There were no lines at 3 p.m. The only delay was the poll worker who had it stuck in her head that my last name had a C after the S. She had to call for assistance to find my name because no matter how many times I said “S-H-A,” she chose to hear “S-C-H.”

Since it’s election day, the best time of year for tree color here in central New Jersey, here’s a little tree update. That’s an Armstrong maple planted by the township the year G-rex was born. I love watching them grow up together.

The tree that’s just now beginning to turn red at the top is my October Glory red maple. The green one is a Bradford pear. You can read about planting days for these trees and growth charts on my Tree Grower’s Diary.

The orange/red tree in the background is my sugar maple. Can you see Bradley standing below? He’s 6 feet tall if that gives you an idea how tall this tree is now.

The red sunset red maple is nicely red on the outside, but still quite brownish-looking overall.
