The Most Genuine Thing

This image says so much about Jackie’s life right now — the colors, the cell phone, her championship cheerleading ring, zebra colors, her smile. That’s the thing about Jackie. It seems she’s always smiling a genuine smile. I love that about her.

That dog cracks me up!

I first did a shoot with Dawn’s family last fall in Central Park.

They went on to win the Christmas card contest I held last year, winning this year’s family session!

Obviously, this year we did a lot of pictures at their house.

I love this one. Jackie’s feet sticking out from under the laptop are so cute!

JJ is into texting his friends too.

I enjoyed hearing him play the saxophone.

I think it just might be possible he’s a Yankees fan.

One of the things I love most about this family though, is that the kids are so close to their parents.

Their shoot was in late October, when the trees were still just starting to turn. I remember thinking that red maple would make a nice backdrop for this year’s Christmas card.

Like a model, Jackie endured the cold so I could get the simple colors of the green backdrop with her beautiful hair and brown tank.

She’s a natural at posing.

See how the jacket changes the whole color palette? What a beautiful smile she has!

Sweet 16.

JJ didn’t have braces at our last shoot. I think it’s totally cool to show the braces in pictures. Braces are cool when you’re JJ’s age!

This is his GQ look. Look carefully. It only lasted a second before he broke out laughing.

I think it’s cool to shoot teenagers from slightly below waist level to make them seem tall and powerful. They love that!

But my favorite of all is the trampoline shots!

Guess I should have popped this shot up on the blog back on Halloween. I still love it! (Kind of a dead give-away as to how far behind I am in my editing, huh?)
