Click the picture for a glimpse of Scott Grimaldi’s new promo shots. Be sure to turn up the sound! I’ve been jamming to his smooth jazz for months now!

I love shooting at night! I had an awesome lighting assistant. The best ever, actually. You know who you are! Thank you!

I can’t wait to hear Scott’s new album.

Hoping that some of these pictures will make the CD jacket! Not sure if I can say what the name of the album is going to be, but there’s a good reason we shot at night.

Before it got dark we took advantage of the low, soft winter sun.

And we were drawing somewhat of a crowd with Scott’s jazzy riffs.

    Fave!

Window light creates so much depth and shadow. I think that’s pretty much a requirement for anything music- or drama-related.

Similar shot with my other camera. I always carry two.

Not sure what I was going for with this one, sort of a wayward traveller I guess.

FAVE! I love the splash of light, center frame, and the splash of colors in Scott’s jacket. This was taken at dusk with my flash positioned behind Scott, and the setting sun giving a touch of warm light to the foreground.

Scott plays several woodwind instruments, so we thought it would be cool to try for some flute shots too. I like the shadows and light splashes in this one.

I like the opposing lines in this one.

We were under a train bridge. Care to guess where?

It was SO cold that day. I was wearing my fingerless gloves. (Learned that trick from my band days.)

A little walk took us to some awesome neon.

The off-camera light makes this look like a movie set. Scott, you look AMAZING! This look totally goes with the cool sounds you’re making on your album!

FAVE! Thank you so much, Scott! Can’t wait to hear the album and see how the CD comes out!

Great night shots Julie! With the first few shots, I thought you were in New York City and then at the shot when you asked to guess where you were, I recognized the arched bridge under the train tracks at Easton Avenue and Albany Street in New Brunswick. Cool music!
