A One-Step Program to Enjoying Spring

Yesterday was cold, damp, windy and grey. But the G-rex and I went to the park anyway. Check out this tree blossom! G-rex says it looks like an alien’s tentacle.

Forsythias don’t bloom very long. Better get out to appreciate them while you can. (Trying to capture this one with my macro lens on a windy day was not the best idea I ever had.)

My one-step program to enjoying spring: take a step out the door.

Put on a coat if you have to.

Everything is SO interesting in spring!

And obviously, even if it is grey, sometimes it clears up a bit while you’re out! Yay!

“If I sit here long enough, will people put coins in my hands too?”

I like the layers in this picture — from the willow tree in the foreground and the dog-walker, to the red maple blossoming behind her, to the row of pears and finally, the tall bare trees in the background. G-rex said, “I didn’t know willow trees are yellow in spring.” I said, “I didn’t know you knew that was a willow tree! High five, dude!”

I stood under the willow tree and looked straight up with my camera. See that yellow pollen? It’s going to be all over your car by next week.

G-rex and I were playing tag. Does it count if I tag you with my camera?

As I was taking this picture, I was thinking how grateful I am for color and sight and the ability to go to the park on a spring day, even if it is a bit chilly and damp.

As I was taking this one of a red maple, I was thinking…

…YIKES! surface roots! (I have those all over my yard thanks to all the red maples I planted.)

I wonder if willow trees inspired the first curtains.

What changes will I see today? First step: step out the door.
