This is another picture of my dogwood last Friday. I’ve been working with Kaitlin Abbitt, who has been helping me redesign my blog. Kaitlin, I love it! The thumbnails for previous posts allows readers to find posts in categories easier. For example, if you’re here because of my trees, you can much more easily find posts related to all trees, or just a specific tree, like my famous dogwood. And the best thing is, it’s visual! A visually-driven blog is a good thing for a visual person like me! Thank you, Kaitlin!

  1. Fabulous! Absolutely fabulous new look! Perfect to showcase your amazing work!

I meant the background which used to be black.

The pictures are terrific. I always love the beautiful colours.

    • Hi Parka,
Actually, Kaitlin figured out that the pictures had a setting to make them light, or faded sort of, until you hovered your mouse over them. So she switched it so that they were normal until you hovered, and THEN they’d be lighter! So THANKS for pointing out the brightness, even if that’s not quite what you meant.
      :D

Looks great, Julie! The layout is fresh and fun!

Does it maybe look brighter because the old one was solid black for the background? If I remember right? And now the blog posts are on this lighter gray?

    • That’s what I was thinking, but Parka’s comment had me wondering if it was TOO light now, like I needed to adjust my web files to be darker, or richer. What do you guys think?

Ooooh, and don’t you love the “forum” feel of the blog comments? I love it!! :D

Ohhh I love it Julie! I want a gravatar. :)

  5. Kaitlin says:

I’m a bit biased, but I think it looks fabulous! I love how visually rich it is now – you have so many great pictures that it only makes sense to showcase them as much as possible.

  6. Parka says:

    Nice redesign! Somewhat brighter now.

    • Hi Parka!
Do you mean that the images are too bright? I kind of noticed that on Mike’s PC — that the images were, well, not so much “bright” as they were “too light” as in, the blacks weren’t rich enough. Is that what you mean?
