This Fireworks Show Was for the Birds

We joined the birds at Papaianni Lake Park in Edison, NJ, to see the fireworks

Brad and I ran up to the police line by the lake just as the show was starting.

I began shooting…

…with a fast shutter speed to darken the sky and capture the colors of the fireworks.

But then I heard honking. Hmmm, what was that, I thought.

And I realized something cool!

There was a huge flock of geese waiting nervously by the lake.

AWESOME! This one and the top-most picture of the blog post are my two faves. I slowed the shutter speed way down to let in more light so we’d be able to see the geese.

It was a great fireworks show!

I think the birds enjoyed it too.

LOVE the geese! The big bunch of them there makes it look like they’re all gathered for the show. I can’t imagine what was really going through their goose brains though…
