Just Jeter

Meet Jeter. Isn’t he cute? (I love that his little tongue is sticking out!)
This is the first in a series of blog posts about Beth and Rich, and my host family in Tokyo. If you missed the preview slide show from my trip to Japan, click here. I had so many cute pictures of Jeter!

He’s such a good model.

Most mornings I would get up early and take Jeter for a long walk around Roppongi Hills. “Early” comes early in Japan. They don’t change their clocks to Daylight Saving Time. Time of this image: 5 a.m.

Check us out in the reflection of some store!

Early morning is also a great time to get stuff done, such as a little bonding time with Beth.

And a morning nap perhaps before the kids wake up.

There is no question whose dog Jeter is.

Jeter belongs to Rich…

… and Rich belongs to Jeter.

(In my “good doggie” voice…) “You’re such a good puppy!”

A little bonding time after a run and before the kids head off to school.

I didn’t think to get a picture of it, but Jeter is trained to wait by the front door after he’s been out for a walk. He waits until someone comes and wipes the bottoms of his feet with a towel. I noticed one time (or maybe two) that he waited by the door for nearly an hour. He never moved. He just stands there with his head hanging low, waiting for the foot massage.

He LOVES to be outside walking the streets of Tokyo.

He also has no problem crashing a photo shoot or two.

Hey! What’s that cat doing in Jeter’s post? Scram, cat!

I believe Jeter thinks the cherry blossoms are to be fetched.

“Never mind cherry blossoms! Look! A new friend!”

“Sure! I’ll pose for the family picture. (Click.) Ok, are we done? I see a turtle in that pond.”

“I’m on the trail. Where’d he go? Where’d that turtle go?”

See all that dirt. That’s why Jeter is trained to have his feeties cleaned when he gets home from a walk.

“Turtle! Where’d you go?”

“Ahhh, I love grass.”

“I’ll just stand here a while. TURTLE!”

Back home, Jeter loves to hang out wherever the kids are.

Not to be outdone by the kids, Jeter must be included.

He’s such a good doggie.

Sit.

No DS for you, Jetey.

Awwww.

“GRASS!!!”

Oh, we love to run and play! This was taken outside TV Asahi’s headquarters. That’s a model of Tokyo tower inside the atrium. Note: the grass is only open Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays during daylight hours.

We were Geocaching! Have you ever played that game? We want to hear about it! Leave us a comment!

Me and the Jetester, taken by Makena.

He’s such a sweet puppy.

That is such a cute puppy! I love how he is shaggy, but not too shaggy, and the half-mask. He looks well-loved.
Oh, and I love the shot of you with Jeter…really NICE!!
What wonderful pictures, Jules! Jeter is adorable…must be a Jack Russell Terrier (or a Jack mix). These brightened my day…dogs RULE!!
Awww…those shots are very cute! I love it!
Hi,
I just stumbled upon your blog and I’m IN LOVE with Jeter! He’s quite possibly the most adorable dog in the world (although I love them all). Your photography is just as wonderful. I bookmarked your site/blog. Consider me a new fan! Continued success with your work!
Julie,
Great seeing pictures of Jeeter. Every time I see your pictures of Beth I end up crying so hard. I miss her very much. My life is not the same since I left half my heart behind in Tokyo when we moved. Tokyo was a special place for us. I miss Beth so much and seeing these pictures give me a piece of her. I just blew the big one by not signing up with you for our family pictures.
Love you Beth!!! Thanks Julie.
i LOVE 3!!!!!!!!! such a cute pup!!
Julie, Thanks for the totally cute meet and greet with Jete, a family member with whom I have yet to become acquainted. Maddox may be my God Son, but this makes me think I have another Gallagher nephew! And as for that wait-by-the-door training Beth can boast about, she did better with her dog than her sister. Taking my shoes off at the door remains a bone of contention between us! Luv you, Beth!! Thanks again,Julie!
Love these pictures, Julie! My favorite is the 8th one down of Rich standing up holding Jeter and Jeter’s mouth is upside down wide open with joy!!! ….and who could resist those eyes? They’ll always be puppy eyes, no matter how old Jeter gets!
He’s such a cutie! And very photogenic, too
I love that he sits by the door waiting to get his feet cleaned. We’ve managed to train ours to sit and wait for food, but haven’t yet managed to tame them when coming in from outside. Usually they sit and wait for the leash to come off, and then it’s off the the races.
How fun to come home from a dinner in Shibuya only to find Jeter on the blog!! Thrilled to see all these fun new pictures. And me, never a dog person, totally converted by these 15 pounds of fluff. How great that you were able to capture his sweet personality… Loving ‘em all!
I miss my little Jetey-walks!! Give him a big hug from me!
Oh my gosh Julie! These are sooo stinkin’ cute I just can’t stand it. My family is crowded around the laptop checking out Jeter…cool name btw…and now we may “need” our very own Jeter.
I signed up for Geocaching a few years ago, but never played. It does look like fun. Jack and I may have to give it a go!
