If you checked out yesterday’s blog post about the contrasts I was feeling when I shot this Central Park session, you might appreciate why I chose this image for the cover of their holiday card. The black and white combined with the words and the contrasting expressions on the kids’ faces is really cool. And I mean that literally — it has a very cold feeling.

Cold, as in winter.

Cold, as in color tone.

Cold, as in he’s got that sly smile and she’s got that attitude, like the song.

Cold, as in “Baby it’s cold outside.”

I love it! (Oh, by the way, I added the snow in photoshop. Cool, huh?)

But jump to the inside and all of a sudden, it’s WARM! The fall color palette of browns, tans and deep golds bring you into the warmth of their loving, smiling brother/sister relationship.

As is tradition in my card designs, I always list the children’s ages. I love it when my photo clients come back year after year for custom card designs. I think the notion of collecting the designs is a great way to be sure to save and share images of your family over the years.

Design specs: 5×7 card printed on art linen paper (which, by the way, feels so rich in your hands. I love linen paper!). Full inside spread measures 10×7, with the signature appearing under the photo montage.

What I love most about this design: The contrast of the cold cover and warm inside! What do you like most about it?

We LOVE comments! :D
