I have been photographing Margaret since she was two days old. I can’t believe she turned two this week!
More pictures below!

Can you guess the name of the park? (Hint: I’ve photographed another of my regular families there once before.)

You may look at this picture and think, “eh.” But I look at it and think, “MIRACLE!” Not only are my two little friends in the same shot, but they’re actually holding hands and looking in the general direction of the camera! MIRACLE!

FAVE! It just makes me feel such intense happiness whenever I see Margaret running and smiling and being so healthy!

FAVE! Love this one too. Haydon is such a sweetie to me! (My little photo assistant, by the way. I’m betting he can tell most of you reading this a few things you don’t know about off-camera flash and how it works with radio triggers.)

This one makes my heart melt.

The kids were in a wedding last summer and so we wanted to try to get some more formal shots of the kids in their wedding attire.

Yeah, right.

It was a challenge to get both kids in the shot at the same time. But I love this one of Margaret playing with that train.

I love this one because I feel like it captured an intimate, all-too-fleeting, moment between mother and child.

Pretty girl…

… just like her mom. I love the light in this shot.

Since we were taking pictures anyway, I like to try for a nice professional headshot while we’re out playing. I love both of these!

We took most of these pictures in November, but I didn’t post them because Rebekah wanted to make surprise gifts for her family. I love this one of Haydon rushing to flop into a pile of leaves.

But this one is my favorite playing-in-the-leaves shot!

I like this one too.

She has no trouble keeping up with her brother!

Love this like-daughter-like-mother shot!

I could stare at this image for a very long time. Her eyes draw me in and I can’t wait to find out more about Margaret as she grows and matures.

Our day-in-the-life session included a long break in the middle for naptime. By the time I came back over, it was nearly dinner time.

Haydon made me promise not to show his bath-time pictures on the blog, so I skipped those, but if you’d like to see the slide show, ask his mom or email me!

Ok, check this out. Rebekah loves my bed-jumping shots in matching jammies, so we had to try a few bed-jumping shots. However, it’s a rather small bed, and Margaret is still pretty little. Check out Rebekah’s shadow on the closet door, especially her hands in the ready-to-catch-you pose. Cracks me up!

Meanwhile, in the background, Sam was hanging out in the rocker waiting for book time.

I love this shot. I took it from the top of the stair landing, looking down at Haydon playing with his truck on the first floor. I have so many memories of playing with my brothers in the hallways with trucks when I was a little girl. I would love to have a few pictures of that.

Rebekah has done a great job making me look good in her house! I love how she displays the pictures I’ve taken of her family! Thank you, Rebekah! Your home is beautiful!

That’s Haydon and his dad at the Christmas Play, a similar shot to one I’ve posted on my blog before. Doesn’t Haydon look like a natural at public speaking (like his mom and dad!) in this shot? (Brenda, if you’re reading this — doesn’t Haydon look like he’s projecting to the secret star? Can’t wait till he’s old enough for lines!)

After the Christmas Play, I got to hang out with Haydon and his family for a while at home. Haydon and I had a great time talking camera stuff.

What a beautiful tree and such a sweet little girl!

This one reminds me of hanging out with my friend, Susan, on Christmas Eve many, many years ago, staring out the window desperately searching for a little red light guiding a fast-moving flying sleigh.

Congratulations, Margaret, on turing TWO! We love you!

I saved this shot for last because it’s such a unique shot to me — a view of the hall that connects the family in an historic house in which many prominent families have lived. At the bottom of the stairs: a light said to have been made by Thomas Edison’s crew to light the dark stairwell for the senior pastor who lived there then. (The light is not glowing in the shot though.)
Sam and Rebekah, I hope you enjoy the slide show as much as I do!
Her grandpa flew in from Texas, and since I had pictures of Grandmomma from another shoot, I had to give equal time. I think this may be...
This family lifestyle session lasted from sunset to sunrise -- all the best times to shoot!...
*GAH* too adorable. I especially, especially love, love, love the pajama shots. My heart is melting!
Julie — I’ve been missing you in January, wondering why you hadn’t been posting much to your blog. So glad you’re back! I’ve never seen a photographer post so much variety from one photo session. You are one-of-a-kind, my friend.
LOVE the one that shows mom’s freaked out shadow on the wall! LOL!!!
Looks like you had a fun time at the shoot and the pictures came out wonderful. Great pics!
Hi Julie, It is a mark of your incredible talent that I look at each one of these photographs with such pleasure – and I don’t know any of the people. You are truly gifted!
Thank you, Pat!
Julie…as always…such an amazing job! Sam and Rebekah, Haydon and Margaret are a beautiful family! Your pictures brought tears to my eyes!
I know, me too, Brenda!
Two years, wow! I love seeing her baby pictures next to these — those same sparkalating blue eyes.
