I love doing this shot — mom and dad connected by the newborn baby. Check out the next one though… the set up for the shot…
This is the one you hang on the wall, but the next one is the “real” shot, the one that goes in the baby book.
… More pictures below!

While I was testing the light (before taking the baby’s diaper off), Marisa and RJ’s older children were intently watching too. I think these two pictures, the beautiful one at the top, and the setting-up shot above, are so cool! What a great family unportrait!

In this one, I was just happy the newborn was actually looking in my direction at the same time as the parents.

Baby parts are so cute, especially when you contrast the size of the baby parts with the size of the mommy parts.

I am so happy to be their photographer!

I love this shot. Marisa’s next door neighbors, Eileen and AJ, are also clients of mine. When I did Eileen’s family session, Marisa was still in the maternity phase, so we brought everybody out front for a few minutes. Above, all their kids, minus the baby who was still cooking.

There they are — Marisa and baby-to-be!

Eileen and Marisa. Love this picture! (Eileen’s pictures and holiday card posts are coming soon to the blog too! Be on the lookout for that!)

Several weeks later, I got to meet the baby.

She’s so cute!

Marisa has such a pretty smile.

He looks so big in this picture. Awesome jump shot, dude!

When he was showing me some of his toys, I kept picturing in my head my 6-foot-3 son and remembering the submarines and dirigibles he used to love playing with when he was this size. Wish I had pictures of that now.

Fave!

She was so tiny back in November.

Can’t wait to watch the baby grow over the next several years! I wonder if she’ll look like her big sister.

I love this picture. I’d put this one in the baby book for sure.

Love this one too — like father, like son.

Aw, how sweet!

I think it’s really important to get a full shot like this to show the relative sizes of the boy and his father. They grow so fast. (Did you see that caption above about my 6-foot-3 son?)

Here’s another park you can name for me. Know it?

I took most of these pictures last fall, but didn’t post them until now so that Marisa could surprise her family with Christmas gifts.

It was almost too late for fall color at this park in November, but a few trees still had leaves, like these red maples.

We lucked out with some beautiful afternoon light too. This is a fave for sure! Isn’t she adorable?

MELT! Shhhhhhh… nobody tell her that she could get just about anything with those eyes.

FAVE in the unportrait category!

I love the energy and composition in this one. I used the color version in the slide show. If you want to see the show, leave a comment and I’ll send you the link. It’s so cool!

A helping hand from dad. They have so much fun chilling together.

Notice the motion blur — I was losing light fast and using a very slow shutter speed, but I really like how it gives this shot energy.

Fast forward several weeks — the baby’s Christening! Isn’t she just so beautiful?

The service was held at the Church of the Nativity in Fair Haven.

I felt fortunate that I had time to drive down so that I could capture some images of the extended family after the service. These are the baby’s God Parents.

EVERYBODY! (Ok, for the record, all the kids were, let’s just say, “done” by the time we tried to pull this shot together.)

After the group shot, I encouraged the kids to run around a little, you know, burn off some energy. This is my new all-time favorite coat-and-hat set. And I love her expression!

Congratulations on your great big new family!

May your life be blessed, sweet little one.
Hope you enjoyed your slide show as much as I do, Marisa and RJ! Can’t wait to see what we do for our next shoot!
