I made it into NYC with no problem. More pictures below!—>

The train was virtually empty except for lots of NY Rangers fans who got on the train a few stops after I shot this. As one of my Times colleagues put it, “Weather’s too bad to make it to work, but Rangers game? Take the train!”

The snow in NY when I arrived in late afternoon at Penn Station was mostly slush from having been plowed, shoveled and walked on all day. But the blowing snow in the background shows how heavy the snow was coming down at that point.

Before leaving Metuchen, I thought the guys clearing the parking lot at the train station were doing a great job making slush.

Not many souls waiting for the train today.

Earlier in the afternoon, I caught a glimpse of Brad and Greg having a snowball fight in the driveway, which is next to the Japanese Red maple, and my street trees and the reason this post is filed under “Julie’s Trees.” (Ok, actually, it’s filed there just to keep all my blizzard posts together in one category. Heavy sigh for my filing skills.)

I stood in the front door. Didn’t want to get my feet wet AGAIN.

Brad was not being so nice to his little brother. He was dumping shovels-full of snow on top of Greg’s head. Note to my youngest sibling self: help Grex plan revenge.

Why the boys weren’t helping Mike with the driveway was beyond me.

Then again, I wasn’t exactly helping with the driveway either. Check out this awesome picture I took up at the First Presbyterian Church! Robin and Jonathan are going to have a lot of shoveling to do on Thursday.

I love that old building.

That’s a lot of snow on those trees.

Have you ever seen Penn Station that empty? Incidentally, just after taking this picture, a man in ragged clothes came out of nowhere, got up in my face, and yelled, “Did you take a picture of me? Did you just take a picture of me?” I shook my head and ran to my train, vowing never to take my camera out at 12:45 a.m. in Penn Station again.

Check the blog later for an update. If the power stays on....
It used to be that looking out this window was looking at the street....
With my email down, I have plenty of time to take pictures of my trees, and something pretty to post along with the message that my email is...
Stunning, Jules.
Great snow photos! Love the new blog too.
Funny about the Ranger’s fans. No school, but it was a double hockey snow day at City Ice Pavillion in LIC!
Thanks Lisa. Still working on the blog colors and stuff. The comment section is driving me nuts!
