We had such a good time when my friend, Caroline, and her kids came to be New York tourists and stayed at the Shaver Hotel. Below, a sneak peak at the pictures from our day at the Metuchen pool. Coming soon: pictures from all the other stuff we did together. It was so much fun hanging out with Caroline and her kids! I hope they come back again soon! Grex had a BLAST!

CHECK CAROLINE OUT!!! Doesn’t she look amazing? She and I used to hang out at a pool near our neighborhood in the summers when we were teenagers. By the way, this photograph has not been TOUCHED in photoshop. Caroline really does still look like a teenager. I’m so jealous, as I always was!

That’s Grex acting as my photo assistant and taking pictures with the underwater camera for me of Caroline and her two kids.

As he was taking the underwater shot, I was on the hot pavement thinking, “Back up. You’ll never fit all three of them in that shot.”

Right after the shot, the camera battery died. Which is a really good excuse for Caroline to pack the kids up and bring them BACK!

Grex took this one with the underwater camera. I love it!

FAVE!!!! Caroline, I love your kids! Grex and a friend of his were looking at the pictures with me and Grex says to his friend, “Those are my cousins.” I love that he said that. Caroline and I met in 5th grade and have been best friends ever since, regardless of the many miles that always seem to separate us.

Caroline’s daughter showed me some of her gymnastics moves. I think I heard her say she only started gymnastics a year ago.

She seems to be a natural!

I love how both of Caroline’s kids are so full of energy and smiles.

One of my photo assistants took this one with the underwater camera. Came out nice!

I love how it looks like he’s sitting on top of the water. (This is my pro camera — the point-and-shoot can’t stop motion this good!)

This one is awesome too!

Not sure who took this one, and I can’t figure out the background either. Mike says it’s a reflection of the metal thing along the side of the pool — what is that? Part of the filtering system?

Love this one!

Grex took the underwater shots with the Canon PowerShot D10.

I love the light in this one. He was sitting in the snack area. Great light! (Pro camera.)

Grex definitely took this one!

LOVE this one! Fave for sure. That underwater camera is awesome on so many levels — cool underwater pictures, extremely durable, and makes for awesome reaction shots (with a different camera) when people are chimping. (“Chimp” = “Review pictures on the back of a camera.”)

I’m a little concerned about that dark spot in the background. Here’s hoping that’s in the camera and not in the pool!

I love this picture! Grex was SO excited to have “cousins” staying with us! And I was so happy to spend time with Caroline again.

Demonstrating the continuous shutter — her first flip off the diving board. Here’s shot 1…

Her brother follows soon after.

Too bad we couldn’t get Caroline’s husband Roger here for our little photo shoot. Lots more pictures from their visit coming soon!
Check out our underwater pictures at the Metuchen pool!...
Another beautiful summer day results in lots more fun pictures at the Metuchen pool....
Grex's favorite thing: Saturday at the basketball court....
These are so much fun!
And, hold on a minute — are you saying that the woman in the 2nd picture graduated high school in 1982? WOW! She looks fabulous on that dive! That’s truly impressive. We should all work so hard to stay in shape like that!
Yes, that’s what I’m saying. And yes, she does look great!
Julie,
