Charlotte was three weeks old when we did her newborn photographs. We waited to blog about it so that her newborn announcements would be a surprise to everyone in the family. I didn’t mean to wait THIS long though. She’s now almost a year old! Still, I wanted to show the gorgeous pictures from her shoot.

I was trying to get a shot of the wedding rings on Charlotte’s toes to mimick a shot we took of the rings on Jack’s finger when he was a baby. But Charlotte’s toes wouldn’t hold still! I love this shot of Jack nearly touching his little sister’s toes with the rings.

This is the picture we used on the front of the announcement card. That blog post is coming soon too.

I think it’s important at a newborn shoot to capture some basic details of the baby’s every day life.

Every time I do a session with Katie and Ryan, we do a family picture on the back deck. Since we have so many shots of mom and dad and Jack, I thought it would be nice to have one that showed just mom, dad and Charlotte.

She was so tiny!

I love pictures that show how tiny a newborn is compared with things that won’t change in size, like the couch and coffeetable.

I love the smile on Jack’s face in this shot.

And I love the shot of Jack peeking out from behind his easy chair. Yeah, buddy, life used to be easy, didn’t it? Now it’s wait, wait, wait for little sister. (Don’t worry, soon she’ll be waiting for you in all your various activities!)

Here’s the full family shot at Charlotte’s 3-week milestone.
Post coming soon showing the newborn announcement card design!
