There was no money after budget cuts for the Metuchen High School fall production, but somehow the show went on anyway with a lot of creative energy by the Footlighters and staff. I love the picture above!
I’ll post more pictures later, in the meantime, see below for a cool slide show
Until I get the chance to post more pictures, here’s a slide show from the Footlighters’ fall 2010 production of “A Midsummer Night’s Dream.” Click the picture or click here.

These are a few of my favorites.

I shoot manual setting for everything, adjusting ISO, shutter speed and aperture depending on how I want the picture to look and how much light is available in the scene, but I always keep the white balance setting on “auto” and sometimes I don’t really know how the lighting crew lit the scene exactly. Sometimes it’s cool to see how the camera interprets white balance at these events.

For example, in this one, I don’t really remember if the lighting had turned neon green, but I love how the camera interpreted the scene.

The actor who played Puck did an amazing job!

The fairie dances were so beautiful that I actually felt like I was in a dream.

Maryann and Kristie choreographed the dances. Excellent job!

The MHS Footlighters have some interesting traditions before the show and at intermission. I was fortunate to have been invited backstage to document some of it on closing night.

Delia is an excellent photographer. And this may be my very favorite picture ever of a little thing we professional photographers call “chimping,” i.e.: letting people see the pictures on your screen.

I love the dance pictures. The blue lighting, blue glittery makeup and blue costumes were beautiful!

It is so much fun to go to Footlighters productions! I’m not sure if I’m allowed to say what the spring production is going to be but suffice to say it’s going to be awesome! Save the date and GO SEE IT! ***March 24, 25 and 26**** Mark you calendar now!

Love this picture.

Dreaming

Love this one too!

The students did a great job on the costumes!

High-YA!

That blur in mid-air is a shoe. Every good Shakespeare play has a fight scene.

There were some cool dance sequences too. Remember — come see the spring play! March 24, 25 and 26 at the high school. I can’t recommend enough to put it on your calendar NOW! The Footlighters do such a great job!
